Della found her way to the Arizona 15 years ago via growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, followed by 17 years in the Seattle area. Enjoying a twenty-two year career with UPS, she served in both the Seattle and Phoenix areas. Initially she was hired by UPS as a loader, then as a driver. When Della moved to Phoenix in 2001, she worked in lending as a loan originator and account executive for a mortgage broker while waiting to be repositioned with UPS. Upon her re-engagement, she was brought on as an account executive in sales, and then was moved to operations management which broadened her scope and maximized her many talents. She gained invaluable experience in managing people, strategic planning, project management, and customer service. She finished her UPS career after several years of managing and serving national corporate accounts through 2013.
However, Della found she was not yet ready to slow down. She realized she needed to remain engaged so she could implement one of her passions, the one of giving back to organizations she holds close to her heart. After pursuit of other interests, she was approached by Judy Huffman, Associate Broker at Ventana Fine Properties and long time friend, to partner with her and transfer her multifaceted experience at UPS and love of service to the real estate world.
In her spare time, Della enjoys singing a cappella harmony in The Scottsdale Chorus, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends. She volunteers for the Arizona Honor Flight for our veterans and holds positions on various educational and non-profit organization committees.
Judy began her real estate career in 1986 in California. In 1988, Judy and her husband Gerry of 30 years moved to Fountain Hills Arizona. Once in the desert, Judy fell in love with the residential architecture in the north Scottsdale, Desert Mountain, and Paradise Valley areas that reflected the beauty of the Sonoran desert. Having already found real estate intellectually stimulating, she decided that if she was going to be of value to her clients, advanced real estate education was the key. With that motivation, Judy set out to carefully select educational programs and designations specifically tailored for both buyers and sellers of luxury homes. She achieved the licensure status of Real Estate Broker in 1992, was named designated broker for a well known Scottsdale company, then co-founded her own real estate firm in 1998 which she managed until she sold it in 2005.The Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR) designation provides specific education and tools to elevate the real estate professionals’ skills and knowledge to effectively represent luxury buyers, and also provides ongoing programs and updates to keep the professional informed on current trends. The Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS) designation is recognized as the mark of accomplishment in luxury markets around the world. It assures affluent buyers and sellers that agents who have earned this designation have the knowledge, experience and competence required to represent clients in this specialty market. Members have documented performance in the top 10% of their market.
The Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) designation is a national program that helps real estate practitioners stay current on timely issues along with freshening and reinforcing basic skills.
The Master Certified Negotiation Expert (MCNE) designation is a premium designation in real estate. Since Judy chose real estate as one of her passions, she has never attempted to make decisions “for” her clients, but rather strives to be of value to them through guidance. This impressive list of designations, plus 28 years of active real estate sales, has given Judy the knowledge and expertise to guide luxury home buyers and sellers through the complicated maze of real estate today.
Judy’s other passions include singing four-part a cappella music competitively, golf and spending quality time with her extensive family and many dear friends.
